"I hearby summon you to JURY DUTY!!!"

It's 8:47 am and I'm finally warm enough to use my fingers on the keyboard. My day started at 6:30 am with a call to Verizon wireless. My goal with them was to activate my extra handset because they do not allow camera's with telephones inside the courthouse. I was unable to make the switch due to my back up being a "pre-paid" phone. I pleaded with them that I've done it before....it fell on deaf ears.

I got to the court house 10 minutes before the 8:00am deadline with no issues with finding parking (not usually the case) only to find the line leading to the metal detectors as long as those you find at Disneyland! It was pretty darn cold and it took about 30 minutes to get through that line. The line inside to see the clerks was thankfully much shorter.

I walked over to the little cafeteria just across the jury room only to find out the previous owner had died 3 years ago. The current owner only offered quick foods as opposed to an open grille with fresh eggs, hash browns, and the such. I grabbed an Aquafina, and almond Snickers, and a chocolate muffin to tie me over. I turned on my trusty Fujitsu tablet to work on photos I took at Krimzen & Thor's wedding only to be pleasantly surprised that there is free Internet available! So "Ta-da!" Here I am posting my adventure of the day. =)

I have always seen somebody I recognize or know at jury duty. I was worried that my streak would come to an end, but in the last 10 minutes I've seen this gal I've seen on LLU campus I think from Speech Path, another lady I've seen at church (Roxanne Zamora), and an old high school classmate (. I think it's funny, but I'm a happy that my record is still intact since...I guess 18 years old?

The previous 2 times I received a jury summons, I was actually selected as a juror. I sat on a murder cased and an robbery/aggravated assault case. I'll shared those experiences next time because they can be long winded. I do, however, recommend that everyone experiences being a juror at east once. My murder case was pretty exciting, like in the movies kind of exciting!

If I'm lucky enough, I'll be on a group that's excused early. Which means that I may be able to go to Disneyland; that would be twice in 2 months! "Please, please, please let me go your honor!" The reason I may go is last night I was hanging out with several friends, and in a random conversation, Michelle mentioned that she had never been to Disneyland, EVER! The 7 of just just looked at her in disbelief and shared all our magical moments there. I had gone the most recently with a good friend of mine and can't wait to go back! Apparently Michelle is the only one with today off and I hopefully will be also. I'll keep my fingers crossed. =)

...More to come as it happens

9:25 update... Assignments are up, but I'll have to check when the posted list then the mob clears....and I'm in group C. Now the waiting game begins. Ooh, I saw somebody else I know from church ("Lala" Fermin).

9:50 update... Group A was put on an extended break and they have to be back by 1:30pm. There is still hope to be set free from this jury prison! (Dramatic I know... ha ha ha)

10:00 update... I met this girl this morning and her name is Heather. We were competing to see who's group would be dismissed first. She's in group D and since I'm updating my blog...it means she beat me. I am still hoping. =)

2:11 News... I'm out! I've actually been out since 10:11 am. The judge decided to extend his case and didn't need to bring it before a jury yet. It made everyone in group C very happy. I actually rejoiced aloud in the jury room, some joined, and others started laughing =)

We didn't go to Disneyland, but it all worked out. I had to find a book that I'm going to use at next year's rotation and I'm trying to reattach my tailgate. I forgot where I put some parts and had to purchase them from the Toyota dealership (won't be in till tomorrow am). I'll be headed to Drayson now to play some tennis; it should be fun! I haven't played since last spring.

Oh... I wanted to mention I watched Alvin and the Chipmunks yesterday... surprisingly pretty good! It' lulled a bit in the middle, but over all it was entertaining! I recommend it! Well, I better hit the courts. Hasta Lluego!
