What I did Christmas Eve Day...bring your own caffeine =)

Tonight was different...just regular I suppose. I didn't go with my sister and her in-laws like I had the past 2 years. I didn't feel lonely though like I had the past several years...just content. It was nice and quiet. Dad was upstairs watching TV, mom was downstairs multi-tasking as usual getting gifts wrapped, making dessert, cooking soup, finishing laundry, while chatting with her younger sister visiting from Maryland. Older sis is out doing her own thing and I already said what my younger sis was doing.

This morning I had my tires rotated and balanced while I wrote out some Christmas cards, steamed my engine, polished my wheels, and got a basic wash while I had breakfast at Bakers (great food close to home!). I went to drop off some cards only to find out the dorms are closed to outsiders during the holidays, which now makes my cards "belated". It's the thought that counts right? I got home and then waxed my truck which seemed to take forever and a day. I got some of my ski/snowboard gear ready for my trip and was planning on emailing out the address of the condo for those joining me only to find out I get the address and directions when I pick up my key from the main office. I met and saw a "I Am Legend" with my buddy Jeff which I thought was pretty good until the super anti-climactic ending. Not recommended unless you're bored. I did see "Alvin and the Chipmunks" last week which was really entertaining, however with some slow spots in the middle; I would recommend it though. On our way home I picked some polish from the store and after I dropped Jeff off, I spent the next 45 minutes polishing my wheels and other chrome accents on my truck. After that I ate some soup and bread, had some ice-cream, and just....chilled by turning on the tube and flipping on my lap top. My aunt wants to fix me up with a friend of hers back in Maryland which I thought was pretty amusing. I also had some running texts with friends sending wishes with one even coming at 130am! I'm sure she was surprised I answered her that late. I also had a wonderful 90 minute conversation with a dear friend that lead to laughter most of the conversation!

Tonight was...normal and I really enjoyed it. My truck got so much attention today and if she were alive she would have thought she was a princess! Ha ha ha! I know Christmas is supposed to be this special time of year when we focus our thoughts, hearts, minds, gifts, and all that stuff...But I think it's nice to do these things throughout the year to make others feel special all the time.

I've been sick since Friday, but I think I'll be 100% by tomorrow. I shouldn't of done so much on Thursday. I knew that dancing salsa was going to push me over the edge...oh well, gotta live life though right? We can't be too careful and yet not too foolish also.

It's 2am...I'll publish this and proofread it tomorrow. If somebody gets to read this before I proofread it, you'll see how scatter brained I really am. I'm sure I change topics on a dime and write with broken English. I think the Benadryl and Chamomile is kicking in. Good night till then =)
